话剧《雷雨》是中国著名剧作家曹禺创作的第一部话剧作品，也是他的成名作和代表作，创作完成于1933年，发表于1934年7月《文学季刊》。  

《雷雨》的故事发生在二十世纪二十年代初，以刚刚走出封建社会，资本主义正在快速发展的中国社会为背景，描写了一个带有浓厚封建色彩的资产阶级家庭的悲剧。接受过西方教育的资本家周朴园自恃文明，但年轻时曾诱骗侍女鲁侍萍并诞下两子，其后为了娶到跟自己门当户对的富家小姐，将鲁侍萍和刚刚出生三天的次子逐出家门，只留下了长子周萍。

三十年后，周朴园的家搬到了北方，后妻蘩漪不堪其压迫，与继子周萍产生暧昧关系，后者则爱上了家中的侍女四凤，蘩漪的儿子周冲也爱慕着四凤。鲁侍萍从外地归来发现，丈夫鲁贵背着自己让女儿在周朴园的家里当佣人，自己当年的悲剧又在女儿的身上重演。雷雨交加的夜晚，所有秘密都被一一解开，四凤和周冲因触电而死，周萍则用枪自杀身亡……

The spoken drama, Thunderstorm, is the first theatrical work created by the renowned Chinese playwright Cao, Yu. It is both his breakthrough and representative work, completed in 1933 and published in July 1934 in Literary Quarterly.

Set in the early 1920s, during the transitional period in China from feudalism to rapidly developing capitalism, Thunderstorm portrays the tragedy of a bourgeoisie family steeped in feudal traditions. The capitalist, Zhou Puyuan, who has received a Western education, considers himself civilized. However, in his youth, he seduced a maid named Lu Shiping, resulting in the birth of two sons. Later, in order to marry a wealthy lady from a comparable social background, he expels Lu Shiping and their three-day-old second son from his household, keeping only their elder son, Zhou Ping.

Thirty years later, Zhou Puyuan moves his family to the north. His second wife, Zhou Fanyi, oppressed by him, develops a complex relationship with her stepson, Zhou Ping, while the latter falls in love with the family's maid, Sifeng. Fanyi's son, Zhou Chong, also admires Sifeng. When Lu Shiping arrives from another city, she discovers that her husband, Lu Gui, has arranged for their daughter to work as a maid in Zhou Puyuan's residence, repeating the tragic events of her own past. On a stormy night, as thunder and rain clash, all the secrets are gradually unveiled. Sifeng and Zhou Chong die from an electric shock, while Zhou Ping takes his own life with a gun…
